If your cat’s coat is beginning to become overgrown or tangled, then it’s time to schedule a grooming appointment with your trusted Charlottesville cat veterinarian. Here at Charlottesville Cat Care Clinic, our focus is on felines—and we offer a number of services (including grooming, dental care, wellness exams, and even boarding) to help your cat stay happy and healthy.
Tips For At-Home Maintenance
Depending on whether you have a long-haired or short-haired cat, there are some specific grooming tips you’ll want to keep in mind at home. For long-haired cats, you will need to take the time to brush you cat’s coat daily. Doing so will help to prevent clumps and tangles, which can otherwise be very painful for your kitty. Short-haired cats, on the other hand, may not need brushed as often (assuming they keep up with their own grooming), but it’s always a good habit to get your cats used to being brushed.
Our Cat Grooming Services
Here in our office, we’re proud to offer a variety of grooming services for both short- and long-haired cats. Our very own groomer, Stacy Marion, can handle the tasks of combing out a cat’s undercoat, clipping out mats, performing perineal clips, and even doing complete body clips. If needed, sedation or anesthesia can also be provided to your cat prior to grooming in order to speed up the process and prevent unnecessary stress for your cat.
Please keep in mind that, in order to give anesthesia to your cat for grooming services, we must have a recent wellness exam (within the past year) on file. This is done to ensure the safety and wellness of your feline friend!
